Glossary of Terms

Week; Monday to Sunday period.
Advanced-Booking; a booking made more than 3 hours in advance of the time of play.
Late-Booking; a booking made within 3 hours of play or booking commencing.

Member Court Bookings

1. Adult or Young Adult members/bookings may:

i. only be made in 2-hour time allotments,
ii. only book 1 court at the same time; except for Family members (See Family member bookings),
iii. only make 2 Advanced-Bookings per week.
iv. pursuant to, or in accordance with, other booking rules, unlimited Late-Bookings are allowed.

2. Junior members/bookings may:

i. only be made in 1-hour allotments,
ii. not be made past 6:30pm,
iii. only book 1 court at a time,
iv. only make 2 Advanced-Bookings per week.
v. pursuant to, or in accordance with, other booking rules, unlimited Late-Bookings are allowed.

3. Family members/bookings may:

i. only be made in 2-hour time allotments,
ii. only book a maximum of 2 courts at the same time,
iii. only book 2 adult Advanced-Bookings per week, and 3 junior Advanced-Bookings per week (with junior booking rules still applying).
iv. pursuant to, or in accordance with, other booking rules, unlimited Late-Bookings are allowed.

4. Booking rules applying to all members:

i. members may play on any empty court without an online booking, but must vacate if and when a member arrives with a valid booking,
ii. consecutive bookings with the same player, or pair/group of players, are not allowed,
iii. there must be a 2-hour gap between bookings of any player/pair/group,
iv. bookings can only be made between 7am and 11pm, no play shall take place outside of these times,
v. Advanced-Bookings should not be made unless you are reasonably certain of playing,
vi. booking cancellations should be made as soon as possible, this is to allow other members a chance to see court availability,
vii. failure to attend a booking within 15 minutes of the start time, will render the booking void. As a result, you will not have the right to ask any players/members using the court to vacate for your booking,
viii. any continued abuse of the booking system may result in suspension of booking rights, or other appropriate action determined by the committee.

Other

5. Visitors

i. The same visitor may not play at the club, or visit to play of their own accord in a club social session, more than 3 times in any calendar year as a visitor; except for 5.ii
ii. If a member’s visitor, or club social session visitor, is a current financial member of another Tennis ACT affiliated club, they may visit and play at the club without limit (applicable visitor fees apply and must be paid before play),
iii. All visitor fees, made either by the inviting member for the visitor, or the visitor themselves, must be paid before the visitor can commence play.
iv. The member inviting a visitor, to play at the club, is ultimately responsible for any fees due.

6. Dress Code

Only appropriate recognised tennis court shoes are allowed on court whilst playing. No heeled shoes or studded running shoes that will damage the court surface are allowed.

7. Suspended Members

i. A member, whilst under suspension, shall have no entitlement to use any facilities at the Club or to enter the Club’s premises.
ii. A member, whilst under suspension, shall not be on the Club’s premises as a guest of another member.

8. Expelled Members

A person who has been expelled as a member of the Club shall not be on the Club’s premises as a guest of any member.

9. Offences to the Rules or Regulations

i. Any continued breach of the FTC By-laws, Regulations or Constitution may result in disciplinary action; this may include reprimand, suspension or expulsion from the Club.
ii. The penalty for a member found guilty of transferring his or her Membership card/fob/member-number/pin to another person may be expulsion from the Club.

10. General Matters

i. Dogs are only permitted on any of the Club’s premises or property when on a leash; they must be securely tethered whilst unattended. Any droppings must be cleaned up, bagged and placed in the bin outside the clubhouse or taken home for disposal.
ii. Other animals are not permitted.
iii. The club, is a No Smoking venue.
